Project summary
Although formerly widespread and locally common in southern England, this species has experienced a catastrophic decline during the last fifty years and is now considered likely to have become extinct in Britain. This project aim to restore the nationally extinct Short-haired Bumblebee (Bombus subterraneus) to the UK and to improve the diversity and abundance of rare bumblebees in South-east England.
